Paamul, Riviera Maya, Mexico, page 2

Paamul was so tranquilo it was incredible. It's a perfect spot for swimming, diving, or snorkeling, with a protected bay full of reef. We were usually the only people on the beach. It's pretty much the opposite of overdeveloped Vegas-imitation Cancun. We decided to chill for a while. |

We rented one of the 7 bungalows on the beach for $20 a night. They were cute, if a bit rustic. They had queen size beds, ceiling fans, mosquito netting, private bathrooms and a porch, but alas, no hammock. Fortunately, these beach recliners were only steps away, on our private beach. |

The trade winds blow constantly, so there is always a cool breeze on the beach in the Riviera Maya. |
